Further Information
In public law children’s proceedings, Craig represents parents and children in applications for care and supervision orders and placement applications. He has conducted hearings at all levels, from the Magistrates’ Court to the High Court, and assisted on matters in the Court of Appeal during pupillage. His experience includes contested final hearings and lengthy multi-day trials, acting for parents facing serious allegations as well as children, including those called to give evidence. Craig has particular expertise in representing parents with significant learning difficulties or mental health vulnerabilities and has experience acting in cases where the Official Solicitor is instructed. Recent work includes representing a respondent father in a 16-day final hearing involving allegations of controlling behaviour, honour-based abuse, sexual assault, and child assault, and being led by leading counsel in proceedings concerning serious allegations of inter-sibling sexual abuse.
In private law children’s proceedings, Craig acts for parents and children in applications for Child Arrangements Orders, undertaking all types of hearings up to and including contested fact-finding and final hearings. He has significant experience in cases featuring allegations of domestic abuse, controlling behaviour, and alienating behaviours, and is increasingly instructed to represent children in private law proceedings involving such allegations.
