Professional bio
Ellie successfully completed her pupillage in May 2024 and has since developed a busy commercial, chancery, and insolvency practice. She has experience in both the County and High Court, including trials, applications, appeals, directions hearings, and CCMCs.
Prior to pupillage, Ellie worked as an assistant at a Chambers, gaining experience in drafting, shadowing, and research. She also undertook pro bono work with a miscarriage of justice clinic and a street law team.
Ellie obtained a First-Class Honours degree in Law at Lancaster University and was awarded a scholarship to study the BTC at BPP University, Manchester, where she achieved a Very Competent grade alongside a Distinction in a Masters in Legal Practice. She is known as a friendly, approachable, and client-focused advocate who strives for excellence in all aspects of her work.

Ellie has a growing practice and is happy to accept instructions in areas she does not yet have experience. Ellie also represents clients on a direct access basis.
Ellie’s chancery practice includes contentious and non-contentious probate, Inheritance Act 1975 claims, claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, proprietary estoppel, undue influence, will disputes, construction and rectification of testamentary documents, and rectification and extensions of the Registrar.
Ellie’s landlord and tenant practice includes possession claims, commercial and residential disputes, leases, forfeiture, rent and service charge disputes, tenancy deposit matters, housing disrepair, and dilapidations.
In matters relating to land and property, Ellie has experience in adverse possession, boundary disputes, rights of way, easements, trusts of land, proprietary estoppel, trespass, nuisance, and party wall issues.
Ellie’s commercial practice includes contractual disputes, derivative claims, director disputes, debt recovery, shareholder disputes, sale of goods claims, unfair prejudice petitions, freezing injunctions and partnership disputes.
In insolvency, Ellie acts in both corporate and personal matters, including winding-up petitions, statutory demand applications, bankruptcy petitions, set-aside applications, and rescission applications.
Ellie has experience dealing with matters in the Magistrates’ courts including civil applications under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and matters concerning business liability and council tax.
Further, Ellie acts in Court of Protection matters, including financial disputes, matters of validity, capacity issues, the role of deputies, and lasting and ordinary powers of attorney.
