Heather has a strong civil practice particularly specialising in personal injury and all aspects of the OIC process. Heather covers all parts of a case from initial advice through to trial and costs issues thereafter. Heather is happy to provide initial advice by telephone or in writing in relation to all aspects of a case and to draft pleadings.Heather always demonstrates excellent advocacy skills over a wide spectrum of hearings form applications and other preliminary hearings through to trial.Heather maintains a flexible approach to conferences and is willing to conduct the same in Chambers, Solicitors office, via video link or at the lay clients home.

The OIC Process
Heather is very experienced in conducting OIC cases. She is fully conversant with the complex and various sets of rules connected with this process. Heather has conducted and been involved in many of the precedent cases which have emanated from Birkenhead County Court in relation to interpretation of the OIC rules. She conducts all types of hearing in this process, including liability, quantum, costs, applications and preliminary hearings.
Notable Cases
35 year old female. Case against the MoD. Claimant was engaged in TA activities when the MoD vehicle she was in was involved in an RTA. She suffered a significant head injury causing tinnitus and cognitive problems. Award - £180,000
12 year old female. The Claimant suffered significant facial injuries and distress as a result of a dog bite. Award - £70,000
48 year old male cyclist. The Claimant suffered serious injury to his knee as a result of a Local Authorities negligence in not properly maintaining a public right of way. Award - £60,000
28 year old female. The Claimant suffered with Celiacs disease. The Def hotel served her a sausage containing gluten causing her to suffer a severe and lengthy reaction. Award - £15,000
