Professional bio
Ian is an expert in Children Law and the law relating to Domestic Abuse. He is recognised in the directories as a Leading Junior who is highly skilled, diligent, confident, and analytical. With extensive experience across all areas of Children Law, Ian has represented all parties to proceedings.
He is the only practising barrister in England and Wales to have undertaken doctoral research on alienating behaviours in the Family Court, making him an authority on the issue. Ian has delivered training to practitioners both locally and nationally on alienating behaviours and domestic abuse, including at the 2025 Resolution National Conference. He is also the author of the forthcoming textbook Domestic Abuse and the Family Court: Law and Practice.
