Professional bio
James is an extremely busy civil common law practitioner who has always relished the challenge of difficult and contentious trial work.
He specialises in representing Defendants in personal injury, employer’s liability and public liability work. His very strong academic credentials include a double First and scholarship from Oxford University and a major scholarship from Gray’s Inn. He is preferred Counsel for a number of large insurance clients.
He is an extremely effective and tenacious advocate in claims where the Defendant alleges fraud. There are few advocates with comparable trial experience or an equivalent success rate in this type of case (including well over 100 findings of Fundamental Dishonesty).
James has had frequent involvement with cases involving social media, complex medical histories, and surveillance evidence. He has dealt with a number of cases involving extensive fraud rings with very large volumes of material.
Other areas of expertise include highway claims, credit hire and costs.
He is happily married with three children and two large dogs. He is, periodically, a keen endurance athlete having completed a number of Ironman triathlons and numerous marathons and ultramarathons around the world.
