Professional bio
Following completion of her BTC, Libby joined Atlantic Chambers as a pupil under the supervision of Sophie Smith, specialising in all aspects of family law. She studied law at Durham University and was awarded the Uthwatt Scholarship from Gray’s Inn to study the BPC at the University of Law, Liverpool. She achieved a Very Competent on the BPC, alongside a Distinction for her Masters in Legal Practice.
Libby is also the recipient of the Ann Goddard Pupillage Scholarship from Gray’s Inn, awarded to those committed to a career at the publicly funded Bar, as well as the Senior Pupillage Scholarship.

Further Information
Prior to pupillage, Libby worked as a paralegal for a Children Panel solicitor in an award-winning family law team, where she gained experience drafting applications, position statements, and skeleton arguments in both private and public law children matters. During the BPC, she also volunteered for the Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline’s Legal Clinic, assisting vulnerable clients.
Outside of work, Libby is a member of a local show choir.
