Professional bio

Marc has a thriving mixed practice within commercial, civil and family law. Before coming to the bar, Marc enjoyed a career in the commercial/banking sector, along with spells in the public sector for HMRC, and even enjoyed a successful sojourn running bars and pubs.Marc is highly sought after for both his sharp and convincing advocacy, and for his first-rate client care. Professional clients consistently appreciate his collaborative and accessible approach, while lay client’s remark upon his down-to-earth approach and ability to explain complex matters in plain terms. He accepts instructions on papers across all his areas of practice and, where required, can provide a quick turnaround.

Marc has a busy commercial practice, and he accepts instructions across all areas, with experience acting in simple breach of contract cases through to more complex contract disputes, where he has appeared in the High Court. He undertakes a significant amount of work for professional clients in defending both PPI and car finance claims, and this remains an area of particular interest for him. He also has substantial experience in insolvency work and regularly appears in the bankruptcy court. Marc accepts instructions across all areas of civil law. His principal practice falls within personal injury law where he primarily undertakes work for defendants. He accepts work in both low-value cases through to more complex matters and has previously successfully defended a claim in a group action case involving 56 claimants. Marc has a wealth of experience in NIHL cases, and is also regularly instructed in both residential and commercial landlord and tenant cases.

Marc appears frequently in the family courts. He has refined his family practice to specialise in private children cases, in which he accepts both private and legally aided instructions. He both enjoys and specialises in relocation cases, having enjoyed considerable success in this area, and is available to provide talks on the same upon request. He regularly appears in more complex private children cases, having represented clients in more complicated, lengthy fact finds, and in successful appeals against the same before the High Court. Marc’s approachable manner, coupled with his robust advocacy, makes him very popular with lay clients.
